These two projects are made in honor of a good friend of mine and former teacher, Mary-Fred Bausman-Watkins. On May 8th, 2022 (Mother’s Day), she passed away at the age of 59 after a painful, near decade-long battle with cancer, leaving behind her wonderful husband, Peter, and their three adult boys, one of whom I used to go to school with together. In fact, the school we both went to was also the same school whose founder was Mary-Fred, named the Twin Cities German Immersion School. The first project was made in her honor last year after she passed, and I used one of her pictures I found on the internet and traced it by hand. I also created another project as a heavenly 60th birthday present. For that, I did my careful arrangement of lines, shapes, and typography, as well as including the coveted colors of TCGIS.
